Grammy winning music producer David Foster tells EW.com that Christina Aguilera is his choice to perform the official anthem he's been commissioned to create for Salt Lake City's 2002Winter Olympics. Foster says he met with Aguilera's manager Irving Azoff Wednesday to discuss the offer. ''She's one of the few young singers who could handle the music,'' Foster says. ''Those anthems really require a powerful voice.'' Foster should know -- he produced Celine Dion's brassy ballad ''The Power of the Dream'' for the '96 Atlanta Games (he also composed the instrumental piece ''Winter Games'' for the '88 Olympics in Calgary, Canada). Although ''nothing official'' was decided, Foster says Azoff ''is interested'' in giving the 20 year old singer the international spotlight. The opening ceremonies on Feb. 8, 2002, will reach nearly 3 billion viewers -- and potential record buyers.
