Santa prepares for magic of Christmas

Published: 23 December 2001 y., Sunday
Youngsters from as far afield as Japan have written to Father Christmas, spelling out what they would like to find in their stockings on the morning of 25th December. But before he can decide whether to grant their wishes the old man says he always takes a look through his big book bearing the names and addresses of the good boys and girls. This year though, he joked, "they have all been been good boys and girls". Some children will have their dreams come true, but Santa says he always likes to "bring a few surprises". The bearded bearer of gifts is now nearly ready to make that once a year journey around the world in his trusty sleigh.
