Lithuania’s political and economic progress has put it into 2nd position among 116 countries

A recent report by Bertelsmann Fund ranks Lithuania as #2 among 116 countries of the world according to its political and economic efficiency.
The report assessed the state of democracy and market economy as well as economic efficiency. Lithuania shares its position with the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Hungary leads the ranking, whereas Lithuania’s neighbours Latvia and Estonia occupy the 12th and 6th places respectively.
The Bertelsmann Fund report is based on the data of 1998-2003.
