An Information Society in One Network

JSC “Penki kontinentai“ Communication Center is successfully connecting capital districts to “Skynet“ network, creating a new informational city. 15 thousands families and business clients have already connected to the network. 90 % residents (more than 25 thousands people) of one of the biggest Vilnius’ district – Ðeðkinë – are “Skynet” users. The districts of Ðeðkinë, Fabijoniðkës, Paðilaièiai are connected to the magistral optical network.

The “Skynet“ network already came to Virðuliðkës and is rapidly expanding here. Houses 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 47, 91of the district were connected to the network during last weeks. The optical network “Skynet“ reached the Spaudos rûmai (Press Palace), which is located at Laisvës avenue 60. It is the biggest mass media center in the capital. The Communication Center provides the magistral optical connection to the located in the Palace Vðá “Video projektai“, JSC “Speisuva“, JSC “Mûsø gairës“, JSC “VR77“, JSC “Ulos tëkmë“, and Lithuanian and German JSC “Compact transport“.

To the network are already connected edifices of Paðilaièiai district, located on the Gabijos, Medeinos, Paðilaièiø, Þemynos streets; Justiniðkës district - Justiniðkiø, Rygos, Taikos streets and Laisvës avenue, Ðnipiðkës district - Kalvarijø, Kazliðkiø, Rinktinës, Tuskulënø streets. Community of the Þvërynas  district, Elniø street 25, 27B also can enjoy the efficient “Skynet“ connection.

Recently an internet café “Fanoma”, which located on Justiniðkiø St. 62A, was connected to the “Skynet“ network. According to the director of the café Jelena Simoviè, they decided to change the provider of the Internet connection in for 2 years existing café. The director says, that the price of the “Skynet“ network “Sky Gold” service is really small, and the speed of the data transfer is high.

“Children and teenagers like to play computer games at the café, so we need quick and qualitative connection“, - says the JSC “Fanoma“ director about their choice. The optical network service “SkyVerslas” allows the user to transfer data at the rate of 4096 Mb/s in Lithuania, and 512 Mb/s – in the rest of the world.

In the nearest time the Communication Center will expand the network in Pilaitë dicstrict, at first on Isruties, Karaliauèiaus, Pajautos, Papilënø, Smalinës, Tolminkiemio, Vydûno streets, I. Kanto Avenue, therefore developments take place there.

A New Suggestion for Business Centers

The JSC “Penki Kontinentai“Communication Center offers the business centers to connect to the magistral optical network. The optical network – is a new generation connection channel. One of the biggest advantages of the magistral optical network is that data goes much quicker and safer throw it than throw wires. In a case if an organization doesn’t is in the optical network‘s zone, it will be connect to it through the designed line. This is a special wire, which connects two points – the business center and the magistral optical network.

What is the advantage of the service? The connection is provided by the optical network, which provides quick and safe data transfer, the safety of computer networks. There is a possibility for the optical network users to communicate with each other by using IP telephony (each subscriber has got his own IP telephony‘s number). The organizations can use the service and call abroad cheaper.
