Published: 13 November 2018 y., Tuesday

The international tennis tournament BFI Cup takes place in Lithuania for over 10 years. This year the event took place in SEB Arena in Vilnius on November 10-11. Participants proved their competence to operate a tennis racket as well as they operate finances.

More than 70 employees from 15 Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Swedish financial institutions and banking technology companies gathered at the tennis tournament. The number of participants grows every year. The two-day program of the tournament included single, doubles and team competitions.

The representatives of SEB bank showed the best results with the total score of 80 points. The second place went to the Danske bank team (70 points). Swedbank took third place (32 points). The best teams were awarded cups, and the players – medals.

The annual tournament is organized by the agency Green Media. The primary sponsors are BS/2 and ASHBURN International, belonging to the Penki Kontinentai group and specializing in banking equipment, EFTPOS terminals and innovative software solutions.

“We are pleased contributing to the promotion of sports, which has deep traditions in Lithuania. It is gratifying that this year we have the opportunity to be not only the sponsors, but also to take an active part in it,” said Germanas Kavalskis, Head of the Corporate Communications Department of Penki Kontinentai.

For the first time, representatives of Penki Kontinentai Group – Žoržas Šarafanovičius, Executive Director of ASHBURN International, BS/2 Head of Technical Department Gintaras Petkevičius and BS/2 Sales Project Manager Konstantin Butrimovič took part in the tournament. In the team competition, they took 7th place out of 14. Žoržas Šarafanovičius is on the 2nd place in the category "Men 45+".

This year, the Penki kontinentai group established special prizes for the famous judge Lina Berankytė–Astrauskienė, family of bank employees, who has been participating in the tournament for many years, and the newcomers of the competition – the Barclays bank team. The organizers of the tournament thanked the Penki Kontinentai group of companies for their sponsorship and presented the statuette in appreciation.
