Bankers competed in Bank Tennis Racket 2013 tournament

Published: 28 March 2013 y., Thursday

Bank Tennis Racket 2013 (Banku teniso rakete 2013), the fourth installment of the traditional Bank Tennis Racket tournament, was held on the second last weekend of March in Vilnius, Lithuania. SEB Arena hosted sport enthusiasts from various Lithuanian banks. This year 36 bankers took part in the teams competition, the doubles competition, and the men's and women's singles competitions. Most of them had participated in the Bank Tennis Racket tournaments before.

For a number of years now, BS/2, a banking technology company, part of the Penki Kontinentai Group, has served as the event‘s main sponsor.

Says Vytenis Graželis, BS/2's head of marketing: "It is becoming a tradition for our company to participate in this tournament as a sponsor. We would like to see this tournament and its participants' mastery grow, and—you never know—it may well be that next year the tournament will become international."

Last year's winner of the team competition, SEB, maintained its position by taking the first place in the total score. Danske Bank came second, with DNB having to content themselves with the third place. In the singles competitions, Danske Bank triumphed: Robertas Urbonavičius, the bank's head of e-banking development, won the men's competition, while Daiva Uosytė, the bank's head of business-customer projects, took gold in the women's competition. In the doubles, nobody could successfully compete with SEB's Raimondas Kvedaras, the bank's chairman of the board and president, and Eigintas Vedrickas, member of the bank's Credit Committee.

The award ceremony, held after the tournament, the organizers' and sponsors' prizes were handed to the tournament's best playing banks and individuals.
