Dr Web representatives visited Penki kontinentai Central Office

Published: 2 June 2011 y., Thursday

At the initiative of the Kazakhstan subsidiary of BS/2 (a member of the Penki kontinentai group of companies), a group of visitors were in Vilnius in May.  These included: Borisas Šarovas, General Manager of Dr Web, a company that has created some of the world’s best known anti-virus and IT security solutions; head of this company’s Kazakhstan agency, Andrejus Kovaliovas; and Regional Development Manager, Nurlanas Čukubajevas.

In meetings with the management of Penki kontinentai, these representatives discussed common business interests and possibilities for cooperation. The Chairman of the Penki kontinentai Board, Idrakas Dadasovas, said that this visit was not arbitrary and that perhaps in the future we will see some joint projects.“Since BS/2 occupies a strong position in more than 60 markets in the world, it is natural that our interests sometimes intersect with those of other major companies. Therefore, we are always on the lookout for possibilities for cooperation, especially with such important companies as Dr Web”, said I. Dadasovas.

A couple of years ago, ATMs in Russia and Ukraine suffered an attack from a major unknown virus, during which the PIN codes and other data of cardholders were threatened. The Dr Web Company identified that virus and offered the banking technology market an anti-virus programme for that would protect self-service equipment (ATMs, information terminals, etc.) from similar virus attacks. This and similar facts demonstrate that Dr Web products are the result of teamwork by a team of professionals.

BS/2 has been operating successfully for more than 15 years in the banking technology and retail trading sectors. It occupies a leading position in many countries. The Company’s products are used in 65 countries of the world. They have been acclaimed more than once by the ATMIA association, the Wincor Nixdorf and Microsoft companies and others.
