IPTV.iQ – finalist in the prestigious competition

Published: 27 August 2012 y., Monday

Service control software IPTV.iQ developed by “Penki kontinentai” group of companies and presented to “Skynet” IPTV subscribers last February has already received numerous positive customer responses and become one of the finalists for Connected Content Technology Awards (in the Middleware and CPE Technology category).

IPTV.iQ is a multi-functional middleware. The solution assists customers in using available television and data transmission services. IPTV.iQ has been successfully installed and applied by various sectors: IPTV providers, hotels, restaurants, SPA centres, medical or educational establishments, commercial or information centres.

According to chair of the awards judging panel Neil Nixon, both previous and on-going competition have witnessed many technologically strong products and interesting ideas.

“Every year the competition attracts more and more companies from around the world. This year we have received 150 solutions from 102 organisations representing 23 countries. All works are highly innovative and worth attention. We hope that award of one or other kind will benefit its participants and will contribute to success of their businesses”, said the chair of the awards judging panel.

The first version of IPTV.iQ was developed by “Penki kontinentai” back in 2007. IPTV.iQ 4.0 version presented in February 2012 offers a possibility to rent films from a TV screen, stop and rewind the programme while it is being broadcast, record programmes to be viewed later, use Facebook, Google Maps, e-mail, listen to your favourite radio station etc.

“It is very gratifying that the product we are developing has been nominated for Connected Content Technology Awards. The product which has been continuously developed for over 5 years has been recognised not only by “Skynet” network users in Lithuania, but also among developers of IPTV technologies”, said head of the strategic planning and programming division of the company Saulius Paukštys.
