“Skaineta” now collaborates with the clinic of Šeškinė in Vilnius. The company gives fast internet connection known as “Skynet” to the clinic for free and together with the co-workers from this clinic is working on the brand new internet projects on e-medicine. “Skaineta” began with giving an opportunity to translate the results of heart-tests made with a cardioechoscope in the Net. It gives a lot of use for the doctor – and for the patient too. Because until now a doctor, if he wants to consult with his colleague from another clinic, had to take a car and drive to his work with the results of the test. Since now the doctor just has to call and tell his colleague the URL – because now you can see the results of the tests online. Furthermore, the doctors can have real-time consultations. High-quality translation of the test results was possible because of the high speed of “skynet”. “Skaineta” gives a connection of at least 10 Mb/s speed. Now “Skaineta” and the clinic of Šeškinė are creating a clinics website. They have plans to create an online registration for visiting the doctor. These plans have to be realized till the end of the year. Besides, the chiefs of “Skaineta” and the clinic have negotiations about the creating of virtual societies of doctors and their patients – it would be called D2D (doctor to doctor) and P2P (patient to patient). Company “Skaineta” invested to the internet for the clinic, because the company now has its net in the Šeškinė catchment and wants to virtualise this area. It has connected two secondary schools here and it has plans to connect the police office of Šeškinė.
