In Eastern Europe – Lithuanian video security systems

Published: 23 August 2002 y., Friday
In Eastern Europe the bigger popularity is being won by “ATMeye”, the video security system, produced by UAB “Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos” (BS/2). It is installed on „Wincor Nixdorf“ ATMs for fighting the fraud and vandalism. On August 13th 20 „ATMeye+NET“ systems were ordered for Yugoslavian “Delta” bank. Various „ATMeye“ models have been installed on Wincor Nixdorf self-service equipment in banks of Byelorussia (20p.), Kazakhstan (15 p.), Armenia (7 p.), Latvia (5 p.) and Georgia (5 p.). The video security system gives an opportunity to install up to 4 cameras on self-service equipment. Cameras can be installed both inside and outside the device. At the moment only 13 Kazakhstan ATMs have „ATMeye+“ systems that allow connecting 2 cameras. „ATMeye“ video security system creates a video journal to provide an opportunity to browse snapshots. Search systems let you easily find the needed snapshot. If several ATMs with such systems are connected an operator is able to remotely operate video security systems and search and download snapshots. BS/2 has “ATMeye” pilot projects in Poland, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Moldavia, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Slovakia, Croatia, Arab Emirates and Israel. BS/2 provides tutorial services in product installation, servicing and support. In April 2002, ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) handed the prize to BS/2 for “ATMeye” system. The system was called one of the best ATM security technologies of the year. (More >>)
