Insurance services are now available via automatic-machines

Published: 20 July 2001 y., Friday
Vilnius based companies: Insurance company „Lietuvos draudimas” and IT and self service solutions company „Penki kontinentai“, introduced the first in the Baltic states insurance automatic – machines by using which a person can obtain the drivers’ civil liability insurance policy. These automatic-machines known on the market as “ProConsult” are made by the German company „Wincor Nixdorf“. Now they can be found in Vilnius in the supermarket „Maxima“ (Mindaugo street 11) and in the new „Penki kontinentai“ Internet café (Pamenkalnio street 2). The purpose of these automatic – machines is to give the opportunity for the clients to obtain the insurance policy at a 15% less price at any time and place that are suitable for them and also to get comprehensive information about the drivers’ civil liability insurance policy. Even though now a person can obtain from these automatic-machines only the drivers’ civil liability insurance policy, in the nearest future it is being planned to widen the range of the offered insurance services. „The selling of the insurance policies via automatic – machines is our company’s latest step towards perfecting the service of the clients“, - says the company’s „Lietuvos draudimas“ marketing director Arnoldas Ðvenèionis. As he also said, „Lietuvos draudimas“ was the first insurance company in Lithuania that started providing insurance services via Internet. This project realized in cooperation with „Penki kontinentai“ as well. The latest technology of data transmission via GSM network – GPRS is installed in these automatic-machines. The main advantage of this technology is that it is based on packed data transmission with high data transfer speed. “We have applied the latest technological innovations to the sphere of insurance. This allows these automatic-machines to keep contact with the central database independently of where the machine is installed”, - states Rytis Overlingas, the „Omnitel“ senior manager of information technology projects. According to the director of banking technologies of „Penki kontinentai“ Pranas Griðkevièius, even though automatic insurance machine is still a novelty in Lithuania. Our company as a provider of self service hardware and software for 12 East European counties believes in a great future of non-cash self service. It is not complicated to use these automatic insurance machines. All you have to have is a credit card to pay for the insurance policy. When you enter all the required information, the authorization of your credit card is carried out and the assuror is given a check with the information where, when and for which amount he has been insured.
