International exhibition Bakutel 2008 in the capital of Azerbaijan

The fourteenth International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition Bakutel 2008 will take place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on the 11th-14th of November.

The main topics of this event are telecommunications and communication networks, broadband Internet connection, radio and TV broadcasting equipment, security systems, banking technologies and services, e-business and e-government.

The patron of this event is Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan. According to him, development of information and communication technologies is one of the priorities of the country. In this country, where there are 8.6 million residents, the scope of ITT sector is the second biggest after energetics. This field has been growing by 30-35 percent in recent years.

Over 13 thousand people visited the exhibition, which is being organized since 1995, and 127 companies from 24 countries of the world presented their solutions last year. Organizers of the event expect even a greater visitors’ and participants’ attention this year.

By the way, Valdas Adamkus, the President of Lithuania, should visit the exhibition Bakutel 2008 during his official visit to Azerbaijan as well.

The companies BS/2 and Ashburn International which belong to Penki kontinentai group will participate in the exhibition just like last year.

“Our companies design software and hardware for optimization of business and ensuring security; volumes of supply are constantly increasing. At the moment, BS/2 occupies 71 percent of the banking technologies market in Azerbaijan,” says Idrak Dadasov, the chairman of the management of Penki kontinentai group.

This Lithuanian company has been conducting business in this field for over ten years. A subsidiary company of the group has also been established in Azerbaijan.

In the exhibition, BS/2 will present an innovative solution ATMiQ designed for managing and optimizing cash flows, ProView, a centre for managing and monitoring banking equipment with a video surveillance system ATMeye, a program solution Branch Optimizer designed for optimizing activity of a bank branch, and a program solution iQxml which enables to manage payment transactions carried out via self-service facilities.

The company Ashburn International will present multifunctional systems of electronic payment and loyalty programs in the exhibition Bakutel 2008.
