On October 28 the nine years anniversary of the implementation of the fastest fiber optic net in Lithuania "Skynet" will be celebrated.

"We are among the oldest internet providers in the country. We are glad that we have not only survived in this dynamic market but also managed to attract thousands new users. This shows that we have chosen the right business strategy, and our services are competitive from the point of view of both - quality and price," says Haroldas Kutka, the deputy director of the "Penkiu kontinentu" Komunikaciju centras.

According to him the first building where the "Skynet" was implemented by the "Penkiu kontinentu komunikaciju centras" was the block of flats in Seskine district in Vilnius. In the meantime the access to the fast internet is available for inhabitants of more than two thousands blocks of flats, as well as for numerous companies and organizations.

During the nine years period the investment in the development of the "Skynet" made up more than 7 mln. Litas. In total approximately 800 km of cable have been stretched and thousands of various devices and parts have been used.

"Today our customers can use especially fast and reliable internet. What is more, they are offered to use the most up-to-date digital television "Penki TV", which encompasses noticeably more features than any other above-ground, cable or satellite television," says H. Kutka.

In the meantime the "Skynet" is used not only by the majority of the inhabitants of the largest districts of Vilnius, but also in such companies as the "Hanner" and "Spauda". The internet is also established in the "Vilniaus vartai" and the Europa Business Center.
