Lithuanian representatives visited Caucasian countries

Published: 22 September 2003 y., Monday
On September 11-16 the President of the Republic of Lithuania Rolandas Paksas and the delegation of the Lithuanian businessmen were on a visit in Georgia and Armenia. The representatives of Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos, UAB (BS/2) also were among the delegation. Lithuanian businessmen delegation visited Georgian International Oil Corporation, participated in Georgian-Lithuanian business forum. In the International East and West relations’ research centre gave the President of Lithuania R. Paksas the rank of the member of honour. Rolandas Paksas expressed the hope that the forum would become an incitement to development of economical and trade cooperation.

During the visit BS/2 representatyives together with the local partners visited the biggest banks of Georgia and Armenia. In Georgia – the Georgian bank, the United bank of Georgia, TBC, "Basis", "Intellect". In Armenia - ASHB, "Areximbank", International Trade Bank "Anelik".

BS/2 distributes "Wincor Nixdorf" ATMs in the Baltic States and in the Eastern Europe. The company has already cooperated with the banks of Caucasus earlier. In Georgia "Wincor Nixdorf" equipment presented by BS/2 makes up 50 % of all banking equipment market, in Armenia – 30%.

According to the statistical data, in average 150 ATMs are enough for 1 million residents in the countries of Eastern Europe. This average in Armenia and Georgia is very small, it doesn’t reach even 3 %. There are 60 ATMs in Georgia and 40 ATMs in Armenia by now. Thus, the perspectives of expansion of banking equipment installation are very large in those countries. Furthermore, the tourism is promptly expanding there, what raises the demand in ATMs.

Azerbaijan, another Caucasian country, takes a lead over Georgia and Armenia in this field. In 2003 one of the International Azerbaijan banks ordered to raise the number of ATMs three times. International Azerbaijan bank purchased 150 "Wincor Nixdorf" ATMs from BS/2.

Video security system "ATMeye" created by BS/2 is installed in the majority of ATMs delivered to the countries of Caucasus.
