More and more residents opt for Skynet services

Published: 7 April 2015 y., Tuesday

Penkių Kontinentų Komunikacijų Centras, UAB, is expanding one of the largest fiber-optic Internet networks in Lithuania, i.e. Skynet. Last year, the company connected over 6 thousand new households to it. Most of the new users reside in Pašilaičiai, Santariškės, Šnipiškės, Žirmūnai, Fabijoniškės, Lazdynai and Viršuliškės neighborhoods. The company expects that in 2015, Skynet will welcome more residents from Pilaitė and Verkiai neighborhoods. Nearly 80 new households will hopefully join the network over the year.

“Successful development of Skynet network is a result of an increasing desire of customers to use high-quality telecommunications services. We always focus on the needs of the users, thus we have increased the Internet speed, adjusted Internet and television subscription plans; we have updated our website based on the user experience survey results and modern design solutions. We hope that these changes will ensure greater convenience to our customers”, said Robertas Ragauskas, Head of the Commercial Department of Penkių Kontinentų Komunikacijų Centras.

According to Mr. Ragauskas, the main goal of the company is to increase the satisfaction level of the existing customers and the number of new users. The company will continue to expand Skynet network to maximize its accessibility. Continuous modernization of the network allows the company to compete on the basis of the quality of its services. Currently, Skynet speed is 1 Gb/s. High-quality services and fast, safe and reliable data transfer is ensured by a reliable networking hardware of the company’s partner Cisco Systems.

Over 115 thousand households in most of the capital city’s neighborhoods are already part of the network. Vilnius residents have been successfully using the company’s services: Internet, IPTV, Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, for nearly seventeen years now. Skynet reaches most of the schools, libraries, medical and police authorities, embassies and business centers in Vilnius.
