New self-service department concept already in Lithuania

Published: 22 October 2003 y., Wednesday
You are welcome to get to known the up-to-date banking solution at the exhibition “Infobalt 2003” Penki kontinentai Group’s stand Nr. S1.14. An example of the modern bank’s self-service department has been constructed at the premises of Penki kontinentai (A. Stulginskio 5, Vilnius) – at the time of the exhibition banking technologies’ specialists will be waiting for you there daily. There are two zones in a new bank’s self-service department: the cashier’s and self- service. The cashier works during the specified hours and the self-service zone operates 24 hours a day. The bank’s self-service department is equipped with several self-service devices – ATMs, information terminals, due to which the clients can proceed all the needed operations – withdraw cash, deposit the money, view an account balance, print the account reports, make a remittance, pay for the various services, view the latest bank’s information, use the internet, etc. Such a department demands for one employee only – universal cashier-consultant, who would proceed all the bank’s operations and help the clients if needed. The self-service zone is especially convenient for the clients as they can get all the needed services anytime, they do not need to suffer the stress, which comes as a result of misunderstanding when they do not understand the specific terms the bank’s employee use or in other different situations. The self-service department is obviously beneficial for the banks, too. The department doesn’t demand huge maintenance expenses, it’s efficiency and turnover are expected to grow. Such a form of servicing the clients is very attractive, as a result number of the clients is expected to increase. No partitions or grates separate the bank’s employee and the client. Another department’s novelty – modern automatic safes. The cashier doesn’t need to take the responsibility for the money, which is stored in the automatic safes. He or she has got an access to the several sections of the safe, not to all of them. Some of the sections are used as deposit modules. Large amount of money can be stored at such safes; thus, the money may not be collected daily. This also helps the bank to safe up funds. The self-service department is equipped with “Wincor Nixdorf “ self-service devices, which use by BS/2 developed and created technological and software solutions (video security system “ATMeye”, etc.). The currency rates or the latest information on bank’s services may be presented at the large liquid crystal monitor. The bank’s self-service department changes the view at the servicing process. The department becomes a meeting place for the bank and the client, where the client may conveniently proceed all the needed bank operations, communicate practically or even have a good time. A cosy conversations’ nook may be arranged near the self-service devices.
