"Penki kontinentai" Training Centre Recognized by the Professionals

The Training centre that belongs to the "Penki kontinentai" group is recognized as the authorized ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) testing centre.

This acknowledgement shows that the computer literacy courses organized by the company, entetrprise or organization meet the international standards. After finishing the courses the specialists receive ECDL certificates that are recognized all over the world, and is a proof of their expertise to use a computer.

In our country the right to issue the ECDL certificates is granted by the Information Technologies Institute established by the Lithuanian Computer Association. The right is conceded only to those companies and organizations that have the appropriate technical and software basis and professional teachers.

"We are glad to receive such a recognition. It evidences not only the competence of our teachers but of all the staff as well, besides, it obliges to demonstrate even better skills for future clients," says Marijus Bickovas, the head of the "Penki kontinentai" Training Centre.

According to him the emplyees of companies and organizations who already have certain skills how to use a computer and want to improve their knowledge are most common clients of the centre. All other citizens who wish to learn how to use a computer, as nowadays one could harly imagine one's work and free time without it, are also welcome.

"Most often our clients want to improve their knowledge how to use the "Excel" spreadsheets. Office applications courses for the beginners are also popular," says M. Bickovas.

Since 2002 over 28 thousants two level ECDL certificates have been issued in Lithuania. In the meantime 101 authorized ECDL centres are functioning in the country. Computer Literacy Centre by the Kaunas Technology University, department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Vilnius University, Computation Centre at the Vilnius Gedimino Technological University, department of Physics and Technology of the Vilnius Pedagogical University are among them.

This year the "Penki kontinentai" Training centre had three times as many clients than during 2006. The turnover of the centre has increased more than twice. Ministry of Social Security and Labor, Statistics Department, Vilnius Art Academy, such companies as "Omnitel". SEB VB investments management, "Ruta", etc. are among the clients.
