SkyNet Network Becomes More and More Popular

The Seskine Secondary School #48 was connected to the SkyNet Internet Network on 19 June 2001. The Sofija Kovalevskaja School # 49 and also the 3rd Construction School have been connected to the network earlier. On 20 June 2001 the network presentation took place, during which online network lessons were conducted between the Seskine and Sofija Kovalevskaja Secondary Schools. Since the first network lessons were successful, it is expected to have further lessons with the objective of teaching kids.

The 1st QuakeII Battle Tournament between SkyNet network subscribers took place on 9 June 2001. 16 players of different age groups participated in the final Tournament part. The participants played while being connected to the network from their homes, Interneto Era Cafe and BlackStar Game Club. After 4,5 hours of competing Shadow and McNys from BlackStar Game Club entered the final game part. Shadow won easily with the result of 17:1. He was lucky to receive the main prize of BlackStar Game Club one-month subscribtion authorization and SkyNet t-shirt. McNys who took the second place was presented with the original Aliens Versus Predator game and the t-shirt; the third place laureate Ryba received the t-shirt. Since this first tournament turned out to be successful, SkyNet is planning on further QuakeII Battle tournaments, which will invite everyone willing to participate, not the network users only.
