Published: 24 November 2003 y., Monday
The Diplomas of the Belarusian State University (BSU) do not require additional attestation abroad, Rector of BSU Alexander Kozulin stated. “Recently BSU has received no diploma reclamation,” Mr. Kozulin underlined. Graduates of the University work in all European states, “hundreds or even thousands - in the USA.” At present, he informed, the BSU comprises 24 thousand people, including research students, undergraduates, and pupils of the lyceum and of the high school. The BSU employs 8,700 people. The University unites 20 faculties, 6 institutes, 20 scientific and research centres, 50 legal entities. State budget covers 55% of the University’s expenses, 45% are covered by BSU itself. About 37-38% of students pay for their education. Alexander Kozulin noted that education fees make 12% of the budget. “Mainly the University earns its living by industrial and commercial activities. BSU production volumes reach $40 million,” he specified. On October 30 the BSU marked its 82nd anniversary.
