Since 1991 some 1 million people have emigrated from Armenia, chief of the department of migration and refugees under the Armenian government Gagik Yeganian told journalists.
He added over 70% of them have left for Russia. However, since 2002 a zero migration balance has been observed in Armenia, i.e. the numbers of those leaving the country and those arriving are equal, he emphasized.
