Afghan protests over Koran burning

Published: 27 October 2009 y., Tuesday

Afghans vent their anger on the streets of Kabul. They accuse American troops of burning a copy of Islam's holiest book, the Koran, during a raid in Maidan Wardak province last week.

A spokesman for U.S. and NATO-led forces in Afghanistan has denied this, blaming the Taliban for spreading false rumour to undermine foreign troops.
