Brazil's Dog Favela

It’s a dog’s life for the 1,500 unwanted strays who spend their days in a slum-like shelters in Brazil’s southern city of Caxias do Sul. Call it a dog favela. All of the animals that end up at the shelter, which is run by a small non-governmental organization called SOAMA, are put up for adoption.
