Organizers and Exhibitors attach high hopes to this Mega-Event in Asia

Along with refining and developing all of the trade fairs held at the Hannover exhibition grounds, Deutsche Messe AG's key tasks is to step up its level of international activity by opening up through its subsidiaries new growth markets for export-minded industries in such diverse regions as Australia, Brazil, China, Singapore, Thailand and Turkey. An essential element of this campaign to build up CeBIT, the world's biggest trade fair, as an international brand.
In selected regions of the world, high-class trade show for the information and communications industry will run under the name of "CeBIT" or a "CeBIT Event". The campaign includes establishing proprietary trade fairs as well as participating in existing events. CeBIT Asia 2001, to be held from August 8 to 11 in Shanghai, China, the up-and coming business center of the world's most populous country and most proposing market. While CeBIT Asia will be inaugurated for 2001 at Shanghai's Everbright Exhibition Complex, it will become an annual event thereafter in Asia's biggest and most modern showground now under construction the Shanghai International Exhibition Center (S.I.E.C) a German-Chinese joint venture project of epic dimensions.
CeBIT ASIA will make its debut at the Everbright exhibition center in Shanghai, where the CeBIT brand will be introduced to the largest export market in the world. The new venture not only offers unique exposure to the Chinese economy, but also opens the door to new business contacts in neighboring Asia countries. Some 600 exhibitors will attend the show, including international market leaders from 22 countries.
