Diplomats will support people with disabilities

On 24 November, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas will attend the ceremony during which the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Lithuania Tong Mingtao will hand over the aid to the residential care centre “Vilties Namai” in Vilnius.

Items of furniture, household appliances, paintings, board games and an aquarium were purchased with the Ambassador’s donation of 20 thousand Litas.

Representatives of Vilnius city municipality, as well as the representatives of Care Community for Mentally Disabled Persons “Vilniaus Viltis” will take part in the ceremony, which is patronized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The “Vilties Namai” residential care centre provides long-term social services for adult Vilnius city residents who have mental and complex disabilities. Currently, 38 people with disabilities live in the centre.

Next month, the Ambassador of China is planning to make another donation to the sheltered housing for the elderly in Leliūnai, Utena District.
