Movies of Lithuanian cinema were demonstrated in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) near Mons (Belgium) from November 9 to 11. The event was arranged by the Lithuanian Community in SHAPE to commemorate the Millennium of the Name of Lithuania. Members of communities of NATO countries and partners had the opportunity to see seven movies directed by Lithuanian artists in the current decade. The programme comprised movies of diverse genres - poetic documentary, historical, shorts films and cartoon.

Documentary of director Arūnas Matelis „Before flying back to the Earth" was especially notied. The audience could join an assistance fund-raiser campaign and the collected money would be donated ton oncologically ill child in a community, a district or a city. „Demonstration of the movie contributed to the Cinema Odyssey of Kindness 2009 organised by film studio NOMINUM. It was a pleasure to contribute to the campaign which is truly important and meaningful to us," said organiser of the event Dovilė Kiselytė.

The closing one of a series of commemorative events in SHAPE took place on November 23, the eve of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and Society Day. Lithuanian Community planted an oak at the central entrance of SHAPE building - the venue of official events and ceremonial occasions are held. „A board attached near the oak with the Millennium symbol will remind the entire international community about this anniversary of Lithuania," said soldiers serving in SHAPE.
