No Lycra please, we're British

It's called the Brompton folding bike world championships but it really is an awfully British affair.

 

Buttock-hugging Lycra, sporting attire of cyclists everywhere with often dubious effects, was banned from this celebration of the iconic UK-made folding cycle.

 

Contenders had to dress in a manner considered appropriate by stiff-upper-lip English standards whatever their country of origin.
