22,000 of jobless in Lithuania were entitled for jobless allowances

According to statistics department`s report, number of jobless in
Lithuania last month reduced by 4,800 or almost 4% as compared to
May. On July 1 there were 133,600 jobless registered in Lithuania,
statistics department data shows. Although number of jobless continue
to reduce since April, it is still 37% higher as compared to the
beginning of July last year. Unemployment level also edged up to
7.5% from 5.5% last June. The highest unemployment last month was
registered in Lazdijai (16.6%), Salcininkai (15.5%) and Akmene (14%)
regions, while traditionally it was the lowest in Prienai region
with just 3.7% of total workforce here being out of job. At the end
of June more than 22,000 of jobless in Lithuania were entitled for
jobless allowances, the smallest of which was 135 litas ($33.75)
and the biggest one - 250 litas ($62.5) per month.
