Prosecutors in Germany have been outlining their case against a man accused of aiding those behind the September 11th attacks. Abdelghani Mzoudi appeared in the same courtroom in Hamburg where the first person to be convicted over the atrocities stood trial.
He is accused of being an accessory to murder and membership of a terrorist organisation. His lawyer maintains his client's innocence.
The 30-year old Moroccan engineering student was arrested last October in Hamburg.
He faces a possible 15 years in jail - the same sentence handed down to Mounir Motassedeq who was convicted in February on the same charges.
The indictment also alleges Mzoudi helped conceal the whereabouts of Mohamed Atta and other September 11 hijackers.
In an interview given a month after the attacks, Mzoudi told a magazine that while he was friends with some of the hijackers, he was not aware of their plans.
