Russian Orthodox Church is going to canonize a Russian serviceman Evgeny Rodionov, beheaded by Chechen rebels following his refuse to take off an Orthodox cross and to adopt Islam, NTV television reported. All the documents on the Rodionov's feat are ready to be handed over to the Russian Synodal Commission. This information was released during a briefing in Interior Ministry by Archpriest Alexey Zotov from the department on relations with military forces and law-enforcement agencies of the Moscow Patriarchate. There are other three soldiers who followed Rodionov's example. According to Zotov, they sent an inquiry to Russian frontier troops but a search for witnesses is very difficult.
