A Russian security official says traces of explosives have been found on the wreckage of the second of two crashed Russian airliners.
Sergei Ignatchenko, with the Federal Security Service (FSB), said evidence of hexogen was found on a Tu-134 jetliner that crashed in the Tula region south of Moscow.
Hexogen was also found at the wreckage of the Tu-154 that went down in the Rostov region south of Moscow. As many as 89 people were killed in both crashes.
A website connected to Islamic militants has claimed the crashes are retaliation for Russia's war in Chechnya. That claim could not be independently confirmed.
