Whales die in mass stranding

Sixty – four  pilot whales stranded on the north coast of Tasmania.

 

Australian rescue teams have managed to transport the few survivors to another beach where they stand a better chance of recovery.  

 

The fate of the surviving pilot whales is still hanging in the balance.
