Wincor World 2005: Vision at Work

Published: 3 January 2005 y., Monday
“Vision at Work” is the motto of Wincor World 2005, which is being held from January 25 - 27, 2005, at Welle Messezentrum in Paderborn, Germany. Together with 60 partners and across an exhibition space of 7,500 square meters, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting future-oriented products and solutions as well as consulting and other services for retail companies and financial institutions. In addition to the exhibition itself, visitors can attend a series of workshops and presentations providing expert know-how for day-to-day business, and a symposium dealing with the future of banking and retailing. Integrated in the extensive program of presentations is also an innovation day on the future of branch sales, which is being held on January 27 in conjunction with the Börsenzeitung newspaper and the Fraunhofer Institute. Lithuanian company "Penkiø kontinentø bankinës technologijos" (BS/2) - the silver partner at the exhibition - will present its latest products and solutions created for the banking equipment at “Wincor World 2005”. Banking: optimal processes at branches With the ProClassic/Enterprise multichannel software, Wincor Nixdorf will be demonstrating how the self-service, branch and call center channels can converge efficiently on one platform. This software connects a financial institution's host system to various types of customer terminals. Focusing on cash processes at branches, Wincor Nixdorf will show how standard transactions can be shifted to the self-service zone in a customer-oriented manner. Solutions to support front office, back office and self-service processes allow matters to be optimized and new functions to be made available flexibly. Together with partners, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting various innovative, advanced branch concepts. In addition, Wincor Nixdorf will be showing the entire deposit automation process. Our extensive portfolio of cash recycling and deposit systems covers various solutions to optimize cash management, ranging from the processing of single documents and bundles of banknotes and documents, coin deposits and dispensing to cash recycling. A new compact cash recycling system – the ProCash 4000 – will be presented at Wincor World 2005 to extend the portfolio. Using software-supported analyses and innovative cash recycling and deposit technologies, Wincor Nixdorf will also be showing how considerable cost-cutting potential can be exploited without restricting customer service. When it comes to security, Wincor Nixdorf has drawn upon its many years of experience with bank installations and electronic funds transfer to devise various concepts for the banking sector. Whether attempts are made to tamper with an automated teller machine, to steal an entire system or individual cash cassettes, or to attack the network and software, Wincor Nixdorf has a security portfolio that will ward off the growing number of criminal attacks on self-service systems and protect the interface between customers and technology. Automated teller machines are increasingly being installed at off-premise locations where customers go shopping and need cash. Various sample applications demonstrate how financial institutions and independent ATM deployers are supported with innovative product versions for indoor and outdoor installation. However, Wincor Nixdorf's long-standing experience with self-service also adds value outside the banking sector. For instance, we have solutions to reduce costs and optimize processes for postal services, industrial companies and the public sector. Store Vision: focus on integration at retail companies At Wincor World 2005, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting its Store Vision program, which offers efficient solutions for the processes of international retailers. This long-term program – combining all hardware, software, service and consulting activities for tomorrow's retail business – has been extended by components relating to upstream retail processes in the supply and demand chain. Wincor Nixdorf will be showing compelling solutions, particularly in the fields of integration, innovative checkout systems, mobile solutions, reverse vending machines and RFID. Many retail companies are facing the task of integrating a variety of applications in a uniform IT infrastructure. Wincor Nixdorf has developed the Store Communication Framework (SCF) for this complex challenge. This nerve center for data and information integrates the various IT components at branches and at the head office in a self-contained data cycle. This new software architecture reduces complexity and ensures that all applications access uniform data. In addition to POS technology for traditional checkouts, Wincor Nixdorf will be demonstrating different versions of its modular self-checkout systems. New mobile devices support staff when receiving and price-marking merchandise and handling physical inventory. Technologies such as mobile POS solutions, the Personal Shopping Assistant and mobile self-scanning facilities complete the range of products that are available under the umbrella of ProMobile Store. In the area of price and promotion management, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting kiosk systems (which have now become established elements of the IT landscape at stores), electronic shelf labeling and intelligent promotion displays that address customers in a targeted manner. Reverse vending machines are a proven way of automating key branch processes, and have evolved into an important part of the portfolio. In addition to these automation solutions together with their background logistics systems, Wincor Nixdorf will be showing solutions that automate the return of cash at the POS. Furthermore, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting cash management concepts and services for safe and reliable handling of cash logistics at stores. When it comes to RFID, Wincor Nixdorf has built up its know-how of the logistics and supply chain and is investing in its own products and solutions. At Wincor World 2005, Wincor Nixdorf and partners will be providing information on current technology and standardization, advising on potential applications, and showing the results of projects. Services: oriented to outsourcing for financial institutions and retailers The goal of financial institutions and retail companies is to maximize the availability of their entire IT infrastructure. Wincor Nixdorf has a range of tailored IT services to meet its customers' business process requirements, and will be showcasing scalable offerings extending from maintenance to outsourcing. At Wincor World 2005, we will be focusing on outsourcing in the banking and retail environments, international service management, customer care and service quality, IT enterprise management for financial institutions and retail companies, proactive security management, optimal provisioning of systems on site and global logistics management. The keynote will again be Wincor Nixdorf's modular outsourcing concept with which financial institutions and retail companies can reduce the depth of value creation, focus on their own core skills, and achieve improvements that have a direct impact on their bottom line. For financial service providers, Wincor Nixdorf will be exhibiting services ranging from outsourcing of the entire self-service process chain to IT outsourcing for branches. For retail companies, Wincor World will not only deal with IT outsourcing for stores but also focus on SAP outsourcing, such as SAP hosting, application management and help desk services. Under the keyword e-services Wincor Nixdorf will be showing the benefits of CRM-based services to coordinate all activities of a service order on the basis of the automated electronic interchange of all information relevant to service. Customers, partners and all Wincor Nixdorf units involved will be networked together via this e service platform, leading to faster and more focused service activities that are, at the same time, more calculable and more efficient.
