On 29 April this year, AB Bank SNORAS, managing the most expansive customer service network in the country, and the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee signed an agreement according to which Bank SNORAS will be sponsoring for three years the preparation and participation of the Lithuanian representatives in the jubilee game “London - 2012” of XXX Olympic Games.

“Bank SNORAS contributed to sponsoring various sports branches, and we intend to continue these traditions in the future. We are proud that Bank SNORAS, sponsoring the Lithuanian Olympic players' preparation for the jubilee game in London, will contribute not only to new sport victories, but also to bringing fame to the country's name. We have decided to contribute to the Lithuanian sportsmen's preparation for the Olympic game after evaluating the significance and solidity of this event, which traditionally becomes the greatest challenge to the country's sportsmen. Having created a successful internationally operating Bank SNORAS group practically from scratch during seventeen years of activity, we do know how important it is to have support in the preparation period,” stated Raimondas Baranauskas, the President of AB Bank SNORAS.

Bank SNORAS has a multi-year experience in sponsoring sports. For two years in a row, the bank has sponsored the international SNORAS Spyker Squadron team consisting of professional car racers, which participates in the races of Le Mans Series, and last year it won the main Omnitel 1000 km race in our country. In 2008, Bank SNORAS also became the main sponsor of the national karting championship. For several seasons in a row, the bank contributed to the victories of Kaunas basketball team “Žalgiris”.

“We are glad that during this time, when it is especially difficult to attract new sponsors, we have found a reliable and experienced sponsor in the realm of sports, which will help the Lithuanian Olympic team to achieve new victories. Bank SNORAS support is important to us not only because of the financial help which will allow to improve the sportsmen's preparation for the jubilee Olympic game. It is important to us that the Lithuanian Olympic players will be sponsored by one of the largest commercial banks in the country. We hope that it will strengthen the trust of both the sportsmen and the people who support them,” said Artūras Poviliūnas, the President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee.

This year the Lithuanian Olympic movement commemorates the 85th anniversary since the first participation of the Lithuanian representatives in the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924.
