European Team Chess Championships will be held on the 5-16th of November in Leon (Spain). 38 men teams and 36 women ones will participate in this championship. Never before have there been so many participants in the European Team Chess Championships. Even though the strongest teams from Europe are participating there, only the Latvian team will be representing the Baltic States region. It is a pity that our best chess players cannot represent Lithuania. The reason is simple and even trivial – money or to be exact – the lack of money.
