DICKOV TO MISS LITHUANIA CLASH

Published: 7 October 2003 y., Tuesday
Scotland will definitely be without Paul Dickov for their crunch Euro 2004 qualifying date with Lithuania but Paul Devlin has linked up with the squad. Dickov has been scratched from Berti Vogts's plans through injury for the match which Scotland must win if they are to clinch a play-off berth. Leicester City striker Dickov was injured during the Premiership defeat to Fulham on Saturday after only appearing as a substitute. Watford midfielder Devlin missed his side's win at Crewe at the weekend with a hamstring injury but will join his international colleagues in Scotland. Dickov and Devlin played in the last home qualifier against the Faroe Islands in September but were omitted from the team that lost to Germany a few days later. Scotland coach Vogts also has an injury concern over Neil McCann with the Southampton winger struggling with an ankle problem.
