Topalov, Kramnik Tie for First in Amber Final Tenth year of blindfold and rapid tournament

Final Round: When the smoke cleared after the blindfold games in Monaco, Topalov and Kramnik remained tied for the lead, leaving behind, among others, FIDE World Champion Anand. See final tournament standings below. The decisive games of the day consisted in two victories by Gelfand over Van Wely and one by Almasi over Ivanchuk.
Round 10: In the last game of the day, Topalov won a blind game over Leko with Black, thus rejoining Kramnik at the top of the Monaco heap after Kramnik drew Anand twice. The only other decisive game today was Shirov’s loss with White to Lubojevic in a rapid game. Topolov has scored victories over both Kramnik and Anand during this tournament and lost to neither. Anand is in third place.
The winner or winners of this tournament will be decided tomorrow, the last round. The matches will be:
Kramnik-Leko, Anand-Shirov, Topalov-Ljubojevic, Karpov-Piket, Gelfand-Van Wely, and Ivanchuk-Almasi. Each player plays a rapid game and a blind game versus the opponent.
The first game starts at 12:30 GMT. The games aren’t broadcast over the Internet, but the results will be posted here as soon as they are available.
