Viktorija Čmilytė – the third!

European championship at Rapid and Blitz chess among women is held in Minsk, 2-7 of October 2001. Rapid championship ended on the 4 of October. 56 participants from 7 countries were playing there. The majority of the participants were from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, but at least one chess player were representing Israel, Armenia, Poland and Lithuania. 21 grandmaster and 9 international masters were competing in this chess tournament. Viktorija Cmilyte was representing Lithuania. The players had to play 11 rounds, having 25 minutes for a game. You can take a look at final results: www.indi7.f2s.com/chess/we/rew.html Elina Danielian (rating 2395) from Armenia took the first place. She scored 9 points out of 11 and won 7 matches. Participant from Lithuania, Viktorija Cmilyte, having received 7,5 points remained the third. Viktorija won 6 times, had 3 draws and suffered 2 losses. We are sincerely congratulating her.
