Russia views events in Ukraine as internal affair

Moscow believes that the political events that have taken place lately in Ukraine are an internal affair of that country.

"Ukraine has seen serious reshuffles in the past several days, including the Cabinet's dismissal. Moscow views the way the situation is developing in Ukraine as an internal affair of that country," the Russian Foreign Ministry information and press department said in a comment available on the ministry website on Friday.

"Russia will continue its course towards expanding strategic partnership with Ukraine," it said.

"The building of a Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission led by the presidents of the two countries and the coordination of the Russia- Ukraine action plan for 2005-2006 is nearing completion," it said.
