Lukashenko Invites Cuba’s Castro to Belarus

President Alexander Lukashenko has invited his Cuban counterpart Fidel Castro to visit Belarus.

“If Fidel Castro visits Europe at sometime and combines his arrival with a visit to Belarus we will accord him a welcome fit for the closest and kindest person,” Lukashenko, quoted by RIA-Novosti news agency, told the Cuban ambassador to Belarus. Felix Leon Carballo is about to finish his mission in the country.

Lukashenko expressed confidence in the development of bilateral relations with Cuba. “I remember everything we talked about during my visit to Cuba” five years ago, he said.
