Polish Jobless Rate Climbs to 13.7 Percent in July
Unemployment in Poland climbed 0.2 percentage points in July from June to 13.7 percent, the Polish statistics office reported Wednesday. The number of unemployed stood at 2.48 million people at the end of July, an increase of 40,200 people from June. The ranks of the unemployed have increased by 361,100 people, or 17.1 percent over the last year. The jobless rate stood at 11.8 percent last July.
