Mobility programme promotes entrepreneurship and innovation
Nordic and Baltic countries aim to strengthen cooperation of business and industry stakeholders.
The joint mobility programme provides financial support for representatives from the fields of business and industry to carry out study visits, internships and network activities in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The budget of the programme in 2009 is 2 million DKK.
The overall objective of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Business and Industry is to promote economic cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship in the Nordic-Baltic region. The nearest deadline for submitting applications is October 15th, 2009.
“We would like to encourage small and medium-size enterprises, business organizations and incubators as well as state institutions, working in the field of business environment, to take an active part in this mobility programme. It provides good opportunities to establish new or vitalize already existing contacts with partners from the Nordic countries, go for a study visit and to learn from partners”, says adviser Lina Janusauskiene.
Activities supported by the programme require participation of minimum three different countries, of these minimum one Nordic and one Baltic. The programme covers up to 70% of the costs related to travel, accommodation and network activities.
In this context the Nordic and Baltic countries are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.
The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Business and Industry is administered by the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Latvia. The programme is financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the governments of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Business and Industry was launched in the beginning of 2009 together with the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration and the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture.
The joint mobility programmes are important instruments for developing the cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries in the coming years. This cooperation was initiated in 1991, when the Nordic Council of Ministers established it’s Offices in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.
