Self-service terminals – the new service sales channel in Lithuania
Self-service payment terminals, which allow performing a variety of electronic service operations or to pay for the services, are popular abroad and now were launched in our country.
These modern facilities are being installed in major attraction places by Penki Kontinentai Group companies Ashburn International and BS/2. Using self-service terminals one will be able to charge the mobile phone account, buy e-tickets, and pay for various telecommunication services.
“While implementing the project, the man focus was on the vital need of the businesses to optimize running costs and to look for alternative sales channels. If the consumers have the opportunity to pay at a self-service facility, the companies do not need to hire staff and lease premises for customer service centers”, said Laimonas Lileika, project manager for Ashburn International.
According to Mr. Lileika, using self-service terminals would not only be convenient, but also beneficial to the customers. They would not have to wait in lines in the bank and the fee for using a self-service device will be significantly lower than that paid in the bank or for an online transfer. Thus, it will be more economical.
The case of the cash accepting device is made of heavy steel and it is equipped with a modern video surveillance solution, created by BS/2.
The first self-service terminal is already operating in Vilnius trade and entertainment centre Akropolis.
