Healthy Davenport breezes ahead
After spending the last few months recovering from a knee injury, Lindsay Davenport has come back as strong as ever over the last two weeks. She continued her run toward what would be a third consecutive Wimbledon final Saturday with an easy win over Patty Schnyder.Lindsay Davenport used yet another straight-set victory Saturday to move closer to regaining the Wimbledon championship she lost last year to Venus Williams. The much taller Davenport, seeded third, beat No. 30 Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 6-2, 6-3 after a brief rain delay, the third of the tournament's first six days. Also advancing were Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters and an angry Jelena Dokic, but Amelie Mauresmo was knocked out.
