LASCO Privatization

January 10, the Latvian privatization agency (LAP) held a meeting between LAP director general Arnis Ozolnieks and European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) representatives. The latter confirmed the bank's readiness to participate in the privatization of Latvian shipping company (LASCO), informs the LAP PR group. During the meeting, Mr.Ozolnieks presented the privatization preparation process and the privatization model chosen by the Latvian Cabinet, to the EBRD representatives. They believe LASCO, a well-known shipping company, may attract foreign investors. Mr.Ozolnieks assumes, EBRD sustaining the privatization process will make it possible to attract reliable and development oriented investors.
