Lithuanian Suppliers for Swedish Volvo
Swedish owned Swedlit AB Baltija situated in Birzai, Northern Lithuania, generates from Volvo more than half of their sales revenues, which amount to USD 2 million per year. For Volvo “Swedlit AB Baltija” produces car locks, window roof and luggage compartment components and is a major employer in Birzai, having created 160 jobs since 1997. Since 1998 the turnover of “Swedlit AB Baltija” increased 10 times and its production facilities now occupy an area of 4,000 m2. Swedlit AB Baltija is not the only company cooperating with Volvo. Lietkabelis – a Lithuanian company situated in Panevezys, an industrial centre of Northern Lithuania, produce cable harnesses for Swedish car manufacturers.
