Belarus Has Worst Economic Freedom Rating

Belarus has the worst economic rating among the CIS countries (154th place), and its economic policy has been characterized as a “catastrophe”. Even in Tajikistan (146th place), Uzbekistan (149th place) and Turkmenistan (150th place) have more economic freedom, according to the American foundation Heritage in its annual report. As the Reuters informs, the rating includes 155 countries, which are compared on the basis of analysis of 50 different indices, including the level of tax burden, foreign investment, development of the bank and financial system. Russia’s rating is 3.46 points. It has improved its index by 0.08 points, and is placed between such countries as African Gabon, Niger, Benin and Malavi, on the one hand, and Argentine and Ukraine on the other hand.
