Two more foreign banks coming to Lithuania

Austrian bank Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich Aktiengesellschaft and HSBC Bank from the United Kingdom plan to start their activities in Lithuania. Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich (RZB) is the main bank of one of the biggest Austrian bank groups, accounting for one fourth of the banking services market in Austria. RZB group is very active in CEE countries and owns the Raiffeisen Bank Polska, which has a representative office in Lithuania. HSBC Bank, whose head-office is in London, has representative offices in 79 countries, its shares are listed on the stock exchanges of London, Hong-Kong, New York, Paris and Bermudas. It has not had any activities in the Baltic States before, but owns HSBC Bank Polska in Poland.
