Lithuania Offers Most Favourable Business Environment

German companies pay three times more taxes than in Lithuania, where the tax burden is the lowest among the new EU members. Such conclusions of the research were reported by international auditor Ernst & Young and the Manheim-based European economic research centre ZEW. The survey benchmarked the tax burden but not the nominal profit tax rates applied to German companies operating in new EU member states. The tax burden for companies in Lithuania is reported to be 13%, while in Germany – 36% respectively. The authors of the research stress that by investing in Lithuania Western firms would definitely save on taxes.
