WB to help Russia enter global markets

The World Bank is planning to assist Russia in entering global markets by providing it with consultations and exchange of experience, the bank's president James Wolfensohn has declared at a seminar on competitiveness of national economies. He said that Russia has all the chances of repeating the experience of such countries as Ireland, India and South Korea. "Each of these countries has vast experience in creating corresponding legislation; each of these countries has paid special attention to the development of education and scientific research," Wolfensohn said. He stressed that in addition to this, Russia has enormous natural and human resources.
