BS/2 representatives: Deputy Director Tomas Augucevičius (L) and Sales Department Head Manager Paulius Bučelis

On 15-16 October, representatives of Penkių Kontinentų Bankinės Technologijos (BS/2) took part in the 12th Annual Retail Banking Conference in Bratislava. The conference is intended for the discussion of issues, tasks and challenges of the banking sector of Central and Eastern Europe.

According to Paulius Bučelis, Director of BS/2’s Sales Department, mobile solutions were in the centre of attention of this year’s conference. ‘As mobile devices and related solutions are playing an increasingly important role in Europe‘s banking sector, we follow the changes in the needs of banks and their clients. The conference at which delegates of banks from various countries share their experience and discuss issues enables us as mobile solution developers to better understand what banks need most, and to offer the relevant products,‘ says Paulius Bučelis.

According to the expert, client data management, which is becoming an important issue due to the significant growth in information flows, was also discussed at length at the conference. ‘For a number of years we have been offering our clients Cash Logistics.iQ and Dashboard.iQ data management and processing solutions, and the demand for them is growing. These solutions facilitate the banks’ business processes and decision making as well as allow saving of resources. Communication with the banks’ representatives at the conference was an opportunity for us to share experience and to learn about the challenges faced by banks,’ says Paulius Bučelis.

During the event different countries experts read reports. SEB Bank Latvia Head of Retail Banking Ieva Tetere called to discuss needs of the customers, implemented banking solutions and customer communication consistency and shared Latvian changeover to the euro area experience. Participants and guests of the conference included chief executives and business development directors of banks and other financial institutions, manufacturers of banking equipment and software developers.
